This Privacy Policy explains how ThankAI ("we," "us," "our") handles information in connection with the thankai.net website (the "Site") and the AirVids Streamer application (the "App"). It applies to AirVids Streamer, our screen-mirroring app; our audio app has its own AirAudio Privacy Policy.

Summary: AirVids Streamer mirrors your screen and audio over your own local network — that content is never recorded or sent to us, and there is no user account. The app is free and ad-supported: a native banner-style ad appears on its main screen, and you can watch optional rewarded ads to unlock additional streaming time. Ads are requested through Google AdMob, which may use bidding partners including Meta Audience Network and Liftoff Monetize (Vungle). The App also uses Google Firebase Analytics for aggregate usage statistics. Google and participating ad partners may process limited device, advertising, and interaction data as described below.

01What the App handles

Processed only on your device / local network (never sent to us):

  • Screen & audio capture. When you start mirroring, the App captures your screen and device audio and streams them over your local network to the display you select. This content is sent only to that local device and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to us.
  • Display discovery data. The App discovers compatible wireless displays on your local network (names, network addresses, capabilities) so you can choose a target. This stays on your device.
  • Pairing keys. Connection keys for displays you pair with are stored only on your device, encrypted using the Android Keystore.
  • Saved display passwords. If a display requires a password and you choose "remember," it is stored only on your device, encrypted using the Android Keystore.
  • Per-display sound settings. Speaker-sync calibration results and volume levels are saved per display, on your device only.
  • Diagnostic logs. If you enable diagnostic logging, detailed streaming statistics are written to a local log on your device only. If you choose "Email a support log" in the App's settings, the App prepares a log file (which may include names and local network addresses of streaming devices on your network) and hands it to the email app you select — you see the message and decide whether to send it. The App never transmits logs itself, automatically, or in the background.
  • App preferences. Settings such as resolution choice, your streaming time bank, or "instructions seen" are stored locally on your device.

The App does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information such as your name or email to function.

02Advertising & analytics

AirVids Streamer is free to use. Streaming runs on a daily time bank: you receive a free streaming allowance each day, and you can add more time by choosing to watch an optional rewarded video ad. Ads are requested through Google AdMob, an advertising service operated by Google. AdMob may use real-time bidding partners integrated into the App, including Meta Audience Network, whose privacy policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy, and Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), whose privacy notice is at vungle.com/privacy. Watching a rewarded ad is always optional — it is how you extend your streaming time without paying. The App also shows a native banner-style ad at the bottom of its main screen; it loads under the same consent choices described below.

If you enable the optional floating volume bubble in Settings, the App asks for Android's "Display over other apps" permission and shows a small volume control over other apps while mirroring. It displays only that control and collects nothing.

When the App requests or displays an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and participating bidding partners such as Meta Audience Network and Liftoff Monetize may collect and process limited information, which can include:

  • your device's advertising identifier (a resettable ad ID);
  • general device and technical data (device model, operating-system version, language, coarse location/region derived from your IP address, and IP address); and
  • ad-interaction events (such as an ad being requested, shown, completed, or tapped).

Depending on which advertising provider responds to an ad request, this data may be processed by Google, Meta, and/or Liftoff under their respective privacy policies. Google's policies include the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. It may be used for ad delivery, bidding, measurement, fraud prevention, and — where permitted — personalization. We receive only aggregate, non-identifying advertising reports. We do not receive your screen content, and we do not sell your personal information.

Usage analytics (Firebase). Separately from advertising, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how it is used in aggregate — events such as app opens and feature taps, together with general device information (model, OS version, language) and identifiers including the advertising ID and a Firebase app-instance ID. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy linked above; we see only aggregated statistics — never your screen content, local-network discovery information, or anything you mirror.

Your consent choices. Where required by law (for example in the EEA/UK and certain US states), the App shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested, and you can review or change your choices at any time in the App under Settings → "Ad privacy options". You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads). An optional paid version with no ads and/or unlimited streaming time may be offered in the future.

03Permissions the App uses (and why)

  • Screen capture / media projection — to mirror your screen to the display you choose. Android shows a system confirmation each time mirroring starts.
  • Audio capture — to stream your device's own audio (the playback mix) alongside the mirrored video. The microphone is used only during a speaker-sync calibration that you start yourself — an optional test that plays a brief tone through your display and listens once to measure the audio delay. That microphone audio is processed entirely on your device to compute the delay and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted; the buffer is discarded as soon as the measurement finishes. Outside that explicit, user-initiated calibration the microphone is not used.
  • Local network / Wi-Fi — to discover and connect to displays on your network.
  • Foreground service & notifications — to keep mirroring reliable and show its status.
  • Internet — used by Google AdMob and participating bidding partners such as Meta Audience Network and Liftoff Monetize to request and load ads, by Google's User Messaging Platform to provide consent choices where required, by Google Firebase Analytics, and for the App's launch-time service-notice check (see §04).

04Information the Site collects

  • Standard server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and to operate the Site.
  • Cookies / analytics. The Site does not use cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless service that reports aggregate page-view counts only; it does not track individual visitors, store identifiers on your device, or collect personal information.
  • App service-notice check. At launch the App fetches a small status file from the Site so it can show service notices and update warnings. This is an ordinary web request — it carries no identifiers or personal data beyond the standard technical data above (such as your IP address).
  • Contact. If you email us at info@thankai.net, we receive the information you choose to send in order to respond.

05How information is used & shared

We use the limited Site information above only to operate, secure, and maintain the Site and to respond to your inquiries. We do not sell personal information. Advertising data may be processed by Google AdMob and participating bidding partners, including Meta Audience Network and Liftoff Monetize, to deliver, bid on, measure, secure, and — where permitted — personalize ads. Analytics data is processed by Google Firebase Analytics to produce aggregate usage statistics. We may also share limited information with service providers who host the Site or where required by law.

06Data retention

Screen, audio, and on-device data are not retained by us at all. Advertising data may be retained by Google, Meta, and Liftoff, and Firebase Analytics data by Google, according to each provider's privacy policy and retention practices. Site server logs, if any, are retained per our hosting provider's standard retention period.

07Children's privacy

The Site and App are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. The App is not designed for child-directed advertising.

08Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR/EEA, UK, or CCPA/California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because the App stores its own settings only on your device, you can clear most data by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it; you can review or change ad-consent choices in the App under Settings → "Ad privacy options" (shown where consent is required) and control advertising via your Android ad settings.
