This Privacy Policy explains how ThankAI ("we," "us," "our") handles information in connection with the thankai.net website (the "Site") and the AirAudio Streamer application (the "App").

01Information the App handles

Processed only on your device / local network (never sent to us):

• Captured audio. The App captures audio playing on your device and streams it over your local network to AirPlay-compatible speakers you select. Audio is sent only to those local devices and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to us or to any advertiser. (Android requires the microphone permission for this kind of app-audio capture even though it does not use the microphone itself.)
• Microphone — optional sync calibration only. If you choose to run the "Calibrate sync" test, the App plays a short test sweep through the selected speaker and listens through the device microphone for a few seconds to measure that speaker's audio delay. This happens entirely on your device: the microphone audio is not recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere — only the resulting per-speaker delay value (a number of milliseconds) is saved locally. The microphone is used only during a calibration you start, never in the background.
• Diagnostics you choose to send. Settings offers "Email a diagnostic report." The report is built only when you tap it and opens as a draft in your own email app — nothing is transmitted unless you send it. It contains app and Android versions, phone model, session state, your receivers' names and models, and the App's own recent log lines with network addresses masked. It never includes passwords, pairing keys, or your audio.
• Device discovery data. The App discovers speakers on your local network (names, network addresses, capabilities) to let you choose targets. This stays on your device.
• Pairing keys and passwords. Any pairing keys or device passwords are stored locally and encrypted on your device (hardware-backed key store) and are never transmitted to us.
• App preferences. Settings such as "instructions seen" and your remaining ad-earned streaming time are stored locally on your device.
• Optional floating volume control. If you enable the "Floating volume bubble" in Settings, the App asks for Android's "Display over other apps" permission and shows a small volume control over other apps while you stream. It displays only that control and collects nothing.

Service-notice check: once per app launch, the App requests a small notice file from thankai.net so we can display a short warning about an outage, compatibility problem, or important update. The request does not include audio, track information, speaker details, an account, the advertising ID, or another persistent identifier. As with any HTTPS request, the hosting provider receives the IP address and may retain the requested path and timestamp in standard security and operations logs. A missing file, offline connection, timeout, or invalid response is ignored by the App.

Collected by our advertising provider (Google AdMob):

The App is free and ad-supported. A banner ad appears at the bottom of the App's main screens, and the App also offers optional rewarded ads — you can choose to watch a short ad to earn additional streaming time. To request, show, and measure these ads, the App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob). Ads are requested only after your ad-privacy choices are collected; rewarded ads may pre-load in the background so they open instantly when you tap "Watch ad." When ads are requested or shown, Google may collect and process:

• your device's advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / AAID) and other device or app identifiers;
• your IP address and a coarse, approximate location derived from it;
• ad-interaction and app-activity data related to the ads (for example, ad views, clicks, and rewards earned);
• device and diagnostic information (device model, OS version, and crash / performance diagnostics from the ads SDK).

Google uses this data to deliver and measure ads, to prevent fraud and abuse, and — unless you opt out (see Section 3) — to personalize the ads you see. Google acts as an independent controller of this data under Google's Privacy Policy and Google's advertising policies. We do not receive your audio, contacts, photos, precise location, or any account credentials through the ads SDK.

Ads may be filled through AdMob's bidding partners — including Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), whose privacy notice is at vungle.com/privacy — under the same consent choices described above.

Analytics. The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand overall usage — which features are used, session counts, and general device info (model, Android version, country). This helps us prioritize fixes and improvements. Analytics is collected under an app-instance ID (and, where permitted by your ad-privacy choices, the advertising ID) and is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. It never includes your audio, speaker names, passwords, or network details.

Apart from the service-notice request, ads, and analytics described above, the App does not send data to us or third parties.

02Permissions the App uses (and why)

• Audio capture / media projection — to capture the audio you choose to stream.
• Local network / Wi-Fi — to discover and stream to speakers on your network.
• Internet access — to stream to network speakers, check for service notices, and request ads from Google AdMob (including the consent-gated pre-load above).
• Microphone — required by Android for app-audio capture, and used to listen only during the optional "Calibrate sync" test you start (Section 1). Never used in the background.
• Foreground service & notifications — to keep streaming reliable and show playback status.
• Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — declared so the Google Mobile Ads SDK can access your advertising ID to serve and measure ads. You can reset or delete this ID at any time (Section 3).
• Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) — used only if you turn on the optional "Floating volume bubble" in Settings, to show a small volume control over other apps while you stream. You grant this permission explicitly in Android settings (Section 1).

03Advertising and your choices

Because the App shows ads through Google AdMob, you have choices about how your advertising data is used:

• Regional ad privacy choices. Where required, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your ad privacy choices before requesting ads. If Google reports that privacy options are available for you, you can reopen them from the App's Settings.
• Reset or delete your advertising ID. On Android, open Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads). There you can reset your advertising ID or delete it entirely, which limits ad personalization.
• Opt out of personalized ads. The same Android Ads settings let you turn off personalized advertising; you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
• Rewarded ads are optional and user-initiated. Reward ads appear only when you choose to watch one to earn streaming time. We do not show surprise full-screen ads during normal playback.
• Google's controls. You can review and adjust Google's ad personalization at adssettings.google.com and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

04Information the Site collects

• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) for security and to operate the Site. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
• Cookies / analytics. The Site does not use cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless service that reports aggregate page-view counts only; it does not track individual visitors, store identifiers on your device, or collect personal information.
• Contact. If you email us at info@ThankAI.net, we receive the information you choose to send in order to respond to you.

05How information is used

We use the limited Site information above only to operate, secure, and maintain the Site and to respond to your inquiries. Advertising data is used by Google AdMob and its bidding partners to serve and measure ads, and analytics data by Google Firebase, as described in Section 1. We do not sell personal information for money.

06Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information for money. To show ads, the limited advertising data described in Section 1 is collected by and shared with Google (AdMob) and its advertising and bidding partners (including Liftoff Monetize) to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Under some privacy laws (for example, California's CPRA), using advertising identifiers for personalized advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; you can opt out using the controls in Section 3. We may also share limited Site information with providers who host or operate the Site, or where required by law.

07Data retention

Audio and on-device data are not retained by us at all. Advertising and analytics data are retained by Google according to Google's Privacy Policy. Site server logs, if any, are retained per our hosting provider's standard retention period.

08Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App serves ads through Google AdMob, it is intended for general audiences and is not part of the Google Play "Designed for Families" program. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

09Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR/EEA, UK, or CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of personal information, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Because the App stores data only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it, and by resetting or deleting your advertising ID (Section 3).
